Located inside the Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center, the Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce focuses on business relations and creating a healthy business environment, government relations, promoting economic and community development. This work is done through our membership directories, website, social media, as well as facilitating several committees that help to work towards making the community a better place to Work, Shop, Live & Play! In addition, the Chamber hosts an annual golf tournament (4-person, best ball scramble) and bowling tournament as fundraiser activities and runs the Pope County Community Expo which features 150+ exhibitors, entertainment, workshops, seminars, kids inflatables, a food court, and plenty to do for the entire family. Best feature about the Pope County Community Expo, it’s FREE! The Expo has no cover/admission charge so you can bring the entire family out for the day and experience everything that it has to offer! The Welcome Center focuses its efforts on tourism, marketing, event planning, information resources, welcoming visitors and new residents/businesses to the area, and runs several local events/activities, including Glenwood Lakes Area Kids Day, Pope County Farmers Market, Magical Christmas in Glenwood, and more! The Welcome Center also focuses on keeping the community calendar up to date, provides communications to the local area, and utilizes both the email newsletter as well as social media to attract attention. The Glenwood Lakes Area Chamber, in cooperation with the Glenwood Lakes Area Welcome Center, works directly with the community promoting the Glenwood Lakes Area and Pope County. Through working together, the Chamber & Welcome Center provide many services that our community relies upon and are open to suggestions The Chamber & Welcome Center lobby has information racks with business cards, flyers, brochures, magazines, and newspapers about the local area and its businesses. In addition, you will find an extensive selection of visitor guides from all over the upper-Midwest area and information on many things to do in town. The meeting room has free WiFi, a 60” television that you can use to make presentations with access to the internet, a kitchenette for serving food, tables, chairs, and plenty of room with a private entrance to that area. The community meeting & conference room is available for reservations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a first-come, first-serve basis. Glenwood is situated in central Minnesota in the beautiful lakes area has a population of approximately 2,500, but swells to nearly 5,000 during the summer months.
